How
to Commission your Custom Portrait
Maybe you've thought about commissioning an original custom
portrait? It's easy and affordable! I am a custom portrait artist
who specializes in creating painted portraits from photos. You
can commission an original portrait of your beloved pet, a special
child, family member or friend.
Here are the seven simple steps to commission your own custom
portrait art:
1. Choose the Medium
2. Choose the Size
3. Pay 1/2 deposit down
4. Send Photos
5. Approve the sketch/composition
6. Pay remaining balance & shipping
7. Receive your Portrait!
1.
Choose the Medium: Acrylic or oil paint. Besides the
fact that oil paint takes a long time to dry, oil paints are
more expensive to buy. That is why my oil paintings cost more
than my acrylic ones.
2.
Choose the Size: Scroll down for the size/pricing chart
and choose the size you want for your special portrait.
3.
Pay 1/2 deposit down:1/2 deposit is required at the
time the commission begins. The balance plus shipping cost is
to be paid upon final approval from the you. See size/pricing
list below.
4. Send your Photos:
Send photos of the subject(s) and all special instructions for
your custom portrait. All photographs and any additional materials
you send will be returned to you when your custom portrait is
delivered.
* Send
at least one good photograph showing the face of the subject(s).
* Send a photo that conveys the personality of the subject,
if possible.
* For custom pet portraits: If the fur color varies across photos,
identify the most accurate match.
* For custom pet portraits: If possible, send a photo taken
at your pet's level so he/she is looking straight at the camera.
Note
about photos: I cannot stress enough that the client
should provide clear, well lighted photographs of their dog.
I can only paint what I see. If the dog in the photo is one
inch tall, standing in a field of grass, I cannot see any details.
Therefore, I cannot paint them optimally. Please provide close,
detailed photos. The clients of the dogs in the examples of
commissions below, provided excellent photos of their dogs.
You may email jpg images at a high resolution, or snail mail
photos. Emailed jpgs at 300 dpi are preferred.
*Snail Mail: To send photos by snail mail, send 1/2
the full amount as a deposit, along with your photos to the
address below. Upon your approval of the finished custom portrait,
send the remaining balance plus the shipping cost. Please include
your phone number in your correspondence, so I may phone you
if necessary. Also, please include your email address so we
can correspond more efficiently.
*Email: Please save your jpeg images at 300
dpi. To send photos by email, identify all subjects in each

* Custom Portraits with multiple subjects or those commissioned
during holiday or high-volume months may take longer. If you
